Due to restructuring the restructuring of our volunteer program has been put on hold until further notice.
The EPS is proud to have many talented, skilled and selfless individuals who offer their gift of time to become involved in our work. Their dedication and contribution creates a positive impact within our Service, and strengthens our ability to reach out into the community.
Benefits of Volunteering
Volunteering with the Edmonton Police Service gives you the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and become familiar with the policing needs in Edmonton. More importantly, it allows you to make a difference in your community. Your involvement at this local level gives you insight that allows you to speak about issues affecting your community.
Edmonton is a city of diversity and as a representative of your community you may be able to provide insight into issues that would assist the EPS to better respond. Likewise your involvement with the EPS gives you the opportunity to interact with your community members and better inform them of resources and initiatives available to them.
Police Stations are not often places that people go to under favourable conditions. More often than not citizens are coming in because they have been victimized or have experienced an event that has created unanticipated stress in their lives. As a volunteer you will be able to assist in reducing this stress and making their visit more positive.
The Edmonton Police Service has a variety of challenging positions suited to a variety of skills and availability. We hope that you will consider investing your volunteer hours with us.
