Release Policy with respect to Parking Infractions

If a vehicle owner interrupts the towing process while a vehicle is being prepared for transit or towing, the vehicle may be released upon payment of the Drop Charge fee listed in the current contract, providing an officer is not holding the vehicle for investigation. Prior to release, the tow truck operator shall be satisfied that the operator is the vehicle owner or has authorization to use the vehicle, that the vehicle is properly registered and that the operator is prepared to move the vehicle immediately.

If the tow truck operator has prepared the vehicle for towing and towed the vehicle completely out of the parking location (or parking stall) then a towing service has been performed and the tow truck operator is entitled to the full towing fee indicated in the towing fee schedule.

Where disagreement occurs, the tow truck operator will contact the authorized peace officer who will mediate and resolve the dispute.
