The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking witnesses and video footage following an injury collision in southeast Edmonton this morning.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Southeast Branch patrol officers responded to a collision in the area of 58 Street and 34 Avenue. It was reported that a 34-year-old woman was walking southbound at a marked crosswalk on 58 Street at 34 Avenue when she was struck by a dark grey four-door sedan that was travelling westbound through the intersection on 34 Avenue. Following the collision, the dark grey sedan fled the scene.
A Good Samaritan witnessed the collision and tended to the woman before EMS arrived on scene to assess her. She was brought to hospital for precautionary measures with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are seeking information about the driver of the dark grey sedan. Investigators would also like to speak to the Good Samaritan who may have information about the sedan.
"We are hopeful that we will get to speak to the individual who selflessly helped this woman as well as any other witnesses who can help us identify the suspect responsible,” said Const. Janelle Brown with EPS’ Southeast Branch. “Additionally, we are looking for any dash camera footage from motorists who may have captured this morning’s collision.”
