Background:

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a male and a female entered a convenience store located at 93 Street and 107A Avenue and attempted to steal store product. The pair were confronted by two employees, and a physical confrontation ensued. As the suspects were exiting the business, the male suspect produced a firearm and shot one of the store employees.

EMS treated and transported the employee to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Shortly after the robbery, police located the female suspect a few blocks away. She was identified as Keyara Vye, 20, and has since been charged with robbery and multiple firearms-related offences.
