Additional charges laid against Edmonton chiropractor

Investigators continue to seek additional complainants

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Sexual Assault Section has laid additional charges against a 60-year-old man after multiple complainants came forward.

In April 2024, it was reported to police that a female complainant was inappropriately touched by chiropractor Bradley Basaraba, 60, while he provided a hip adjustment at his chiropractic practice, YEG Chiro and Neuro. Following an investigation by the EPS, Basaraba, was charged with one count of sexual assault on Monday, May 13, 2024.

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, police issued a news release seeking additional complainants. Since then, eight additional complainants have come forward, and on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, Basaraba was charged with eight counts of sexual assault.

Basaraba has since been released with conditions to:

  • not contact or communicate with any of the complainants;
  • not visit the complainants’ residences, places of employment, education or worship;
  • not possess any weapons, firearms or ammunition;
  • not practice chiropractic, acupuncture or hypnotherapy services unless under direct, in person supervision by a regulated member of the Health Professions Act;
  • notify all current and prospective patients regarding a misconduct investigation underway by the College of Chiropractors of Alberta (CCOA) ;
  • notify all current and prospective patients of these conditions; and
  • obtain the written acknowledgement of all current and prospective patients that they have been notified of the CCOA investigation and these conditions.


Police continue to believe there may be other complainants and are encouraging anyone who feels they may have been targeted by the accused to contact the EPS at
