On October 03, 1976, the body of Gordon OLSEN was located on the north bank of the North Saskatchewan River near 99 Street.
It was initially believed that Gordon had fallen down the embankment (approx.. 8 feet), hit his head, lost consciousness, and died from exposure. Further investigations were conducted and based on the totality of evidence located, Gordon’s death was ruled a homicide.
Gordon had previously spent 3 years in a mental hospital after he was found not criminally responsible for the stabbing death of his father in Hinton. Gordon stabbed his father to death while he was high on acid. Gordon was released from the hospital only 1 month prior to his death.
