On February 10, 1974, Hector DESJARLAIS was stabbed in the chest in front of the Leland Hotel, previously located near 102 Street and 104 Avenue.

He was transported to the hospital where he was declared deceased.  

An inquest into his death was called however no charges resulted from the investigations.
