Southwest Division patrol members responded to a weapons complaint call at approximately 4:55 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, near Chappelle Drive and Claxton.
William was taken to hospital with gun-shot wounds, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Medical Examiner confirmed that William died from gun-shot wounds.
Investigators have identified two vehicles of interest which were in the area at the time of the homicide and are looking to the public for assistance in identifying the vehicles and driver(s).
The first vehicle of interest is believed to be an older, white Mazda3 with a sunroof and distinct Continental ContiSportContact 5 SSR tires.
The second vehicle of interest is believed to be a dark-coloured, Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu came into the Chapelle area and picked up a male from a home which was under construction at the time.
The male who was picked up from the home under construction is described as a middle-aged man in his mid-to-late 30s, believed to be of middle-eastern decent. He stands approximately 6’0” tall, with a slim build and was wearing white sneakers, blue jeans, a dark hoodie and a construction vest at the time. Homicide detectives are hoping to speak with this man, who is considered to be a person of interest in this investigation.
There is a reward of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this homicide.
