Stabbing

On April 17, 2024, at approximately 9:54 p.m. police responded to a stabbing in the area of 99 Street and Shoctor Alley. It was reported to police that a male had approached a passing motorist and indicated he had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers learned the man was at the Valley Line Churchill LRT station when he was approached and stabbed by an unknown suspect and then swarmed by multiple people. His bicycle was also stolen before the suspects reportedly fled south on 99 Street.  The man was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition. Police continue to investigate.

Personal Robbery

On April 18, 2024, at approximately 7:13 p.m. police responded to Government Centre LRT station for a reported robbery. It was reported to police that a suspect had committed a robbery at the Century Park LRT Station earlier in the day and was noted by ETS Peace Officers to be on the train at Government Centre Station. Officers attended and took the male into custody without issue. Further investigation confirmed he had attempted to rob two different individuals by brandishing a knife. Charges are pending.

Assault Police Officer 

On April 19, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m., officers responded to a trouble with person call at a fast-food restaurant in the area of 81 Avenue and 99 Street. It was reported to police that a female was throwing ice at employees, grabbing food items and making herself a sandwich. Upon arrival, the woman threw hot soup in an officer’s face before fleeing the area on foot. Police caught up to her and took her into custody. The officer was treated on scene by EMS for a minor injury. Charges are pending against the female.
