Aggravated assault

On April 24, 2024, at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers responded to the Coliseum LRT station for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined that two male suspects were observed stabbing and assaulting a male in the bus loop, before fleeing on foot. The complainant was transported to hospital by EMS with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police were able to locate the two suspects and arrested them without incident. The two adult males are now facing numerous charges.

 

Weapons complaint / firearm

On April 24, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the report of a male suspect with a firearm on a bus in the area of 109 Street and 82 Avenue. Upon arrival, the bus was located, and the suspect was approached. He was initially non-compliant, but was eventually taken into custody. The gun was determined to be an imitation firearm but looked like a real automatic rifle. An adult male is now facing numerous charges.

On April. 25, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Clareview Recreation Centre for the report of two male suspects with a firearm. Reportedly, a patron was threatened by another male with a firearm. Upon police arrival, the suspects were spotted walking away from the facility in an adjacent soccer field. A foot pursuit ensued, and the two suspects were taken into custody. Search incident to arrest revealed a sawed-off rifle. Two male youths are now facing numerous charges in relation to this incident.
