Robbery

On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Northeast Branch officers responded to the report of a robbery at a jewelry store located in the area of 94 Street and 137 Avenue. A male suspect wearing a balaclava entered the location, approached staff and demanded jewelry. The suspect fled the store but was eventually located and arrested. A 46-year-old male is facing numerous charges.

 

Traffic stop / firearm

On Thursday, July 4, 2024, at approximately 11:43 p.m., Downtown Branch patrol officers pulled over a vehicle that was driving without its lights on in the area of 97 Street and Jasper Avenue. In speaking with the occupants, a sawed-off rifle was observed in plain view and the occupants were immediately arrested. Brass knuckles and pepper spray were located also located. Two male suspects are facing numerous charges in relation to the incident.

 

Aggravated assault

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, at approximately 7:11 p.m., Southeast Branch patrol officers were dispatched to the area of 85 Street and 84 Avenue on the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, a 24-year-old male was located with stab wounds; he was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. It was determined that the incident occurred at a convenience store located in the area of 91 Street and 82 Avenue. A K9 track was performed, and a 34-year-old male suspect was taken into custody. The suspect faces numerous charges in relation to the incident.
