Aggravated assault

On Sunday. July 7, 2024, at approximately 1:25 a.m., Northwest Branch officers responded to the report of a male stabbed at the Northgate Transit Centre. Upon arrival a 31-year-old male was located with a stab wound to his neck. The victim was transported to hospital by EMS with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

 

Possession for the purpose of trafficking / firearms

On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m., West Branch patrol officers were dispatched to the area of 178 Street and Stony Plain Road on the report of an impaired driver. The vehicle in question was located and the female driver was observed passed out behind the wheel. Once the driver woke up, she initially provided false identification to officers before she was correctly identified. The suspect was arrested, and a large quantity of illicit drugs were located along with a loaded shotgun. The 43-year-old woman is facing numerous charges in relation to the incident.

 

Weapons complaint

On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., West Branch patrol officers were dispatched to a restaurant in the area of 88 Avenue and 170 Street on the report of a male with a gun. A man reportedly entered a restaurant and went to sit with a group when a male suspect that was seated at the table reportedly displayed a handgun. Once the suspect left the restaurant a traffic stop was conducted, and the suspect was taken into custody. A loaded handgun was recovered along with a quantity of illicit drugs. A 31-year-old male is facing numerous charges in relation to this incident.
