Assault

Just before 1 a.m. on Jun. 10, a 23-year-old male deployed bear spray in a hospital ER, then fled peace officers, continuing to spray as he ran through the hospital. He was arrested nearby after exiting the hospital and faces 7 charges, including assault PO with a weapon.

Theft / stolen vehicle / firearm

On Monday, June 10, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Northeast Branch patrol officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the area of 96 Street and 153 Avenue for a theft complaint. Reportedly two male suspects entered the store and stole a number of items, fleeing to a waiting Honda Pilot and leaving the area. Officers determined that the Honda was stolen, and it entered into a criminal flight with the vehicle being abandoned in the area of 115 Street and 142 Avenue, where the suspects fled. They were quickly apprehended, and a search of the stolen vehicle revealed a handgun. A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old youth face multiple charges in relation to the incident.

Possession of stolen property / firearm

On Monday, June 10, 2024, at approximately 8:50 a.m., West Branch patrol officers responded to the report of an encampment set up on industrial property in the area of 112 Avenue and 157 Street. Upon arrival, a male suspect was observed riding away from the encampment on a unique bicycle that resembled one used in a recent series of robberies. Officers were able to catch up to the suspect and upon speaking to him, they determined that the bicycle was stolen. Upon search incident to arrest a rifle was located in his bag along with ammunition. The 33-year-old male faces numerous charges in relation to this incident and the robbery investigations.
