On Oct. 6, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. in the area of 101 Street and Saskatchewan Drive, it was reported that a female victim and her daughter were sitting in their parked Honda SUV when a male suspect entered through the open driver door and demanded the vehicle’s keys while threatening and grabbing at the victims. After throwing the vehicle keys, both victims were able to successfully escape without injury while the suspect fled on foot. Approximately 30 minutes later, police determined that the same male suspect entered a parked Amazon truck while the driver was dropping off packages.  When the delivery driver returned to his truck, he engaged in an altercation with the suspect who was trying to grab his keys. The male truck driver was able to successfully restrain the suspect until police arrived and was thankfully not injured. Police were able to arrest and identify the suspect. The suspect did not sustain any injuries and he faces charges including robbery and assault.
