MRU #: 24R066

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a shooting Monday night.

On Monday, July 29, 2024, at approximately 9:33 p.m., Northeast Branch patrol officers responded to the report of a shooting in the area of 74 Street and 118 Avenue. Reportedly, an altercation occurred between two males on the southside of Northlands Coliseum, where one of the males pulled out an imitation firearm (BB gun) and shot the other male in the face. The suspect then fled the location. EMS responded and treated and transported the injured male to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as being in his mid-20s, with long black hair and a beard. He was wearing a black hat, a red coloured long sleeve shirt, a denim vest with no sleeves and logos on it. He was also described as wearing black pants and black shoes with only white laces in one of the shoes.

“While the weapon was determined to be an imitation firearm, it still resulted in serious injuries and had the potential to impact innocent bystanders,” says EPS Northeast Branch Const. James Henderson. “We are encouraging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to contact police.”
