An autopsy has been completed in Monday’s fatal dog attack.

On Wednesday, Apr. 3, 2024, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on the 11-year-old boy who was attacked by two dogs in southeast Edmonton earlier this week. The cause of the child’s death was determined to be dog bite. The manner of death is pending further investigation.

The dogs belong to a roommate of the boy’s father, whom the boy was visiting at the time of the attack. Both dogs remain in the custody of the City of Edmonton Animal Care and Control.
