Edmonton men charged with over 40 drug, weapon-related offences; over $400,000 of fentanyl seized

Two males have been charged with a combined total of over 40 drug trafficking and firearm-related offences.

In August 2024, police began investigating two males, ages 54 and 42.

On November 2, 2024, police located and arrested without incident Jameson Doherty, 54, and Timothy York, 42.

Following a search, Doherty was found in possession of over 55 grams of fentanyl with an approximate street value of over $8,500, over 20 grams of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of over $1,000 and over $5,000 of Canadian currency.

On the same day, police executed a search warrant at the shared residence of both accused at an apartment building in the area of 172 Street and 67 Avenue.

After executing the search warrant, police located weapons, including a shotgun, two rifles, multiple swords and ammunition rounds.

Police also located a bag that contained over 2,700 grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value of over $400,000. Additionally, over 120 grams of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of over $7,000, over 80 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of over $6,000, hundreds of illegal cigarettes, evidence of drug production, over $1,000 of Canadian currency, two stolen license plates and a Canadian passport were located by police.

“The EPS’ Special Project Team arrested two individuals without incident and took weapons, ammunition and over $400,000 of illicit drugs off the streets of Edmonton,” says Sgt. Ian Vicker with EPS’ Special Project Team. “Our team collaborated with EPS’ Tactical Section to ensure a swift and successful completion of this investigation.”

Jameson Doherty, 54, and Timothy York, 42, were charged in February 2025 with a combined total of over 40 drug trafficking and weapon-related charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and drug trafficking and possession of a firearm.
