For Immediate Release: 13-Apr-2025 @ 2:51 PM
MRU #: TR25006

EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is investigating a collision that claimed the life of one motorist this morning in Edmonton.

At approximately 8 a.m. today, Sunday April 13, 2025, EPS Patrol members responded to a collision in the intersection of 114 Street and 75 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a male who was declared deceased on scene.

Although the investigation remains preliminary at this time, it was reported to police that a 30-year-old male was driving a 2009 Lexus RX350 westbound on 72 Avenue approaching 114 Street. The Lexus reportedly lost control and struck a tree on the north side of 72 Avenue, causing the vehicle to roll. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported.

MCIS has since taken over the investigation. At this time, investigators believe that speed is a factor in the collision.
