The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has launched an investigation into the business practices surrounding Kenneth Nicholls, 55, of Edmonton, after receiving multiple reports from customers claiming he had failed to deliver on hot tub repairs and services.

EPS is currently investigating 17 fraud-related complaints from clients who sought hot tub services from Nicholls, and investigators believe there may be others.

It was reported to police that Nicholls also took large deposits from his clients for parts and repair services and failed to deliver on the transactions. In some cases, he also did not return customers’ hot tubs. Nicholls also allegedly sold used or damaged hot tubs to customers, which were later determined to be damaged or significantly older than initially advertised.

Nicholls used to operate a hot tub store front on Yellowhead Trail and 87 Street, which has since closed. He now works from home and advertises his services on Kijiji under the title of “Hot tub services”.
