Shootings by month in 2024 and 2025

Of the eight reported shootings in February 2025, they were all believed to be targeted and six resulted in reported injuries. There were five deaths as a result of shooting occurrences last month. In four of the eight shootings, there was potential for innocent bystanders to be harmed.

"This past month, we observed a significant decrease in shootings compared to last year," says Staff Sergeant Eric Stewart of the EPS Guns and Gangs Section. "We remain unwavering in our dedication to preventing gun violence in Edmonton.”

Police seized 70 firearms in February, 127 in 2025 so far, as compared to 151 at this time last year.
