MRU #: TR24028

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcyclist that occurred tonight in southwest Edmonton.

On Thursday, June 20, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a male motorcycle rider was travelling eastbound on 41 Avenue SW turning onto northbound James Mowatt Trail. The motorcyclist accelerated his 2024 Kawasaki EX650 P motorcycle, which struck a curb on the east side of the roadway causing the rider to lose control.

The 27-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS. Major Collision Investigation Section (MCIS) responded to the scene to take over the investigation.

It does not appear that speed was a factor in this collision.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision or has dash camera footage to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250
