Police investigate motorcycle fatality

Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Major Collision officers are investigating a fatal collision that occurred yesterday evening.

On Friday, Sep. 13, 2024, at approximately 4:35 p.m., a motorcycle travelling eastbound on 118 Avenue struck an SUV travelling southbound on 139 Street. EMS treated and transported the 51-year-old male motorcycle operator to hospital, where he, sadly, succumbed to his injuries.

The 34-year-old female driver of the SUV had no reported injuries. EMS assessed a female youth passenger for minor injuries.

Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is leading the investigation.

The motorcycle’s speed is believed to be a factor in this collision.
