Police investigating suspicious death in downtown parkade

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating the suspicious death of a male that occurred this afternoon.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Downtown Branch patrol officers responded to the report of a weapons complaint in a parkade in the area of 101 Street and 102 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a male with significant injuries. EMS responded and treated the man, but he was declared deceased on scene.

A male suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident and Homicide Section detectives have taken over the investigation.

An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.
