June is Filipino Heritage Month in Canada. A month-long celebration recognizing the culture and contributions of one of Canada’s largest ethnic groups.
“There’s not a Filipino I know that isn’t waving around a Canadian flag and telling everybody ‘Come to Canada. Canada is the greatest.' They are absolutely just so proud to be here,” said Constable Gabriel Francisco.
The officer encourages people to check out the events celebrating the colourful and vibrant Filipino culture, including its iconic food, music and lively gatherings.
“The community is very inclusive, very inviting. It doesn't matter if you're Filipino or not. Once you're in, you're in. And whether you like it, you're coming to every event.”
