I am a private-practice counselling psychologist with a specialization in Marital & Family Therapy, and have been offering services to clients since 2006. I provide services to individuals struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, esteem and self-concept issues, family of origin difficulties and many others, but consider couples and family therapy to be my areas of particular interest and strength. I am currently a managing partner at the Edmonton Psychological Group, conveniently located in the city’s Grandin area (directly across from the Legislature and next to the High Level Bridge). In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to all my clients’ individual and collective needs to help them attain the goals they strive for.
My counselling is based on a position that clients’ vast lived experiences contribute to beliefs they hold about themselves and in turn, the roles they play in life. These impressions – positive or negative – affect further thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and are often maintained by various systemic factors such as family of origin themes. Collaboratively, I help clients evaluate the legitimacy and usefulness of distressing “narratives” that present in their lives, encourage new awareness of societal or family influences, and facilitate the exploration of new solutions whereby troublesome problems might be disempowered.
