The history of fingerprinting comes to life in the latest issue of the popular Legacy of Heroes comic book series.
Legacy of Heroes: Behold the Proof was released to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Edmonton Police Service’s Crime Scenes Investigation Unit.
The unit was founded in 1916 when Horace Reynolds, a civilian, was hired to collect and catalogue fingerprints.
Since then, CSI has continued to grow, incorporating the latest technology to assist officers in locating and identifying fingerprints left at crime scenes.
In Behold the Proof, Horace Reynolds and other members of the CSI Unit explain the tools and techniques police use to gather fingerprints.
