EPS has developed numerous community-focused units and initiatives, advisory councils and partnerships to build strong relationships with our city's diverse communities. In alignment with the EPS’ Equity, Inclusion, and Human Rights Branch, these bonds allow all communities to teach us about their experiences and their cultures, which allows us to better serve and protect our city.

Street Legal and the Ceremonial Units; Guard of Honour, Historic Unit, and Pipes and Drums; are dedicated to promoting professionalism and tradition. All are highly visible in the community and attend many community events on an annual basis.

Citizen's Police Academy is an EPS initiative, which enhances partnerships and increases communication, much like the Ceremonial Units and Street Legal.
