The Little Black Book of Scams

The Competition Bureau of Canada has developed a creative information booklet called, The Little Black Book of Scams. This booklet includes 12 of the most common scams in Canada, how to protect yourself from scammers, and what to do if you’re a victim.

Fraud Prevention Brochures

In 2023, EPS updated a comprehensive brochure with prevention tips of the most common scams affecting Edmontonians including: mass market scams, grandparent scams, romance scams, investment scams, and funds recovered scams. Download this important brochure here.

In 2018, the EPS noticed a high volume of fraud and identity theft complainants were newcomers to the Edmonton area. To aid in the fight against these targeted frauds, the EPS developed a fraud prevention pamphlet specifically for new citizens of Edmonton so all citizens can easily have access to common fraud-related red flags and contact information for reporting frauds.
