Community Advisory Councils

The Edmonton Police Service is working in collaboration with its three Community Advisory Councils to address new and emerging trends and issues of vulnerability and guide police in addressing issues with vulnerable and underserved communities in the City of Edmonton. Their efforts will support implementing recommendations made from the various community engagement and feedback reports.

 

EPS Community Councils Include

  

Consists of community members whose voices, opinions and experiences will assist in shaping the policies and practices of the EPS to better serve members of BIPOC, underserved, and diverse communities.

 


Relying on the expertise and experiences of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Communities in Edmonton, this council seeks to address the inequalities and barriers in policing that Indigenous peoples face.


Involving members who advocate for sexual and gender diverse communities, SOGIE works to advocate and shape a police service that better contributes and supports members of the 2SLGBTQ+ Community in Edmonton.
