Criminal History Unit

About

The EPS’ Criminal History Unit (CHU) provides identification processing and court conviction DNA collection services. These services include fingerprinting, photographs (i.e. mugshots) and the collection of bodily substances for the technical and scientific identification of individuals.

Criminal History Unit is located at Police Headquarters (9620 103A Avenue) and is open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for anyone required to appear by way of judicial release or court order.

Fingerprinting at Police Headquarters

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EPS has adjusted its fingerprinting process for those who find themselves  unable to attend Police Headquarters due to COVID-19 or other flu-like symptoms.

If you are not displaying flu-like symptoms:

Attend Police Headquarters on your fingerprinting date and speak with the front-desk Commissionaire for further direction.

If you are displaying flu-like symptoms:

The Criminal History Unit will not conduct fingerprinting on anyone displaying flu-like symptoms.

If you are unable to attend Police Headquarters for this reason, you are required to call the Criminal History Unit at 780-421-2198 in advance of your scheduled fingerprinting date. On a case-by-case basis, a new fingerprinting date will be scheduled four weeks from the original scheduled date. A COVID-19 Ident Processing Delays form will also be included in your file for information.
