Ways for keeping your property safe
Access a Home Security Quiz and Home Security Checklist, get tips to help keep your home safe (when at home or on vacation, or if you live in an apartment building), and learn more specifically about door security, garage and backyard security, windows security, preparing an emergency kit, fire safety, and how you can register your camera.
Protect Your Property by including information on registering serial numbers and reporting or finding your stolen property, protecting your bike (using the Bike index), preventing mail and parcel theft, handling graffiti, and preventing arson.
Learn more about crime prevention techniques for multi-housing properties intended to reduce the likelihood of criminal activity occurring on the premises and utilize a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) approach of crime prevention that uses urban and architectural design and the management of built and natural environment. Also, Storewatch is a robbery prevention initiative designed to assist commercial business owners in protecting their employees, their property, and their customers by lowering their risk of a robbery.

Tips for owning and safely operating a vehicle
Prevent theft of automobiles (or from automobiles), resources on traffic safety (e.g., buyers guide to used vehicles, how to install and secure child’s seats, distracted driving, and more), motorcycle safety, pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, and how to report traffic concerns (e.g., vehicle noise, chronic speeding, or ongoing stop sign violations in a neighbourhood).For more detailed information on road safety in Alberta, head to the Alberta Transportation and Safe Roads websites.

Partnerships with EPS
EPS has several partnerships to help deliver on priorities including thePolice and Crisis Team (PACT), Child at Risk Response Team (CARRT), DIVERSIONfirst Unit, School Resource Officers, and Human-centred Engagement and Liaison Partnership (HELP). Additionally, the Partners with Purpose highlights the tremendous efforts happening with our partnerships (currently focused on HELP).
The Neighbourhood Empowerment Team (NET)partnership between the Edmonton Police Service, City of Edmonton, and The Family Centre, work with communities to identify and address recurring safety concerns, using tools such as CPTED, safety planning, and presentations and training.
