The Homicide Section is tasked with the investigation of all Homicides, officer involved shootings, in custody deaths, and suspicious deaths. The section is comprised of two Staff Sergeants and sixteen senior Detectives, divided into three teams.

The Homicide Section is committed to the unrelenting pursuit of those offenders who have committed murder and the successful prosecution of those involved. The members of the Homicide Section recognize there can be no greater responsibility, no greater challenge than the investigation of a homicide. It is our hope that through our leadership, professionalism, and in partnership with the citizens of Edmonton, together we can maintain a safe community.
