The Police Seized Vehicle Section is the vehicle impound where most motorized vehicles towed by the Police and Bylaw are taken. The area staff are responsible for the safe storage, release and eventual disposal of more than 20,000 vehicles per year. The area staff are also responsible for releasing vehicles back to their rightful owners and collecting the payment of all outstanding fees once the vehicle is cleared for release by the seizing member.
If your vehicle appears to have been towed and your questions cannot be answered within this site, you are advised to contact our main information line. This number can be used prior to attending the lot to obtain information on the exact fee amount required to secure the release of a towed vehicle, as well as receive information on additional steps that may be required prior to the vehicle release being granted.
The Police Seized Vehicle Section does not normally handle files relating to property items other than vehicles. For property related inquiries including lost or found non-motorized bicycles, please contact the Property & Exhibit Unit.
