In 2018, the City of Edmonton evolved all Edmonton school zones into playground zones.

This means that there are no days off from 30 km/h speed limits in those areas. Drivers who enter into a playground zone must drive 30 km/hr between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
